Step 6

Create Wireframes

Now that you have the requirements for your MVP, and you know what functionality to include, it’s time for a very fun and exciting exercise… wireframing your product idea!

What exactly are wireframes though?

Wireframes are the blueprint for your product’s user interface (UI) and user experience (UX). They are rough “sketches” of each screen in your product (UI). If it is a “working” mockup, the screens are linked together and can be navigated through (UX) as if it were an actual prototype with only navigation enabled.

We recommend you build your wireframes using Balsamiq, or some other drag-and-drop wireframing tool. Here is an introductory video to Balsamiq:

Make sure to include all of the features (functionality) that you have selected to go into your MVP. Add navigation too so that you can click your way through the mockup and really get a feel for the user experience.

When you’re done, you have the option to export the mockup as a PDF file so you can share it with your developer(s) and/or designer.
